Robin Straub    

           Robin paints her bold and colorful  landscapes, still lifes and figures in a sensual style.  Most of her paintings are completed outdoors (plein air) in the stunning Utah high desert. Often paintings are worked on over several days, and finishing touches are added in her studio. She is equally comfortable using oils, acrylics, or watercolor.  
          
           Robin's figurative work is done from live models, first sketched, then painted.  She explains, "I paint from live subjects because the essence and immediacy of this excites me, and brings more life to the painting." 

            Still life subjects may be flowers and vegtables from her garden, or collections of unusual objects.  Robin also enjoys doing commission pet portraits from photographs.
